Lemonade out of Lemons

I don’t think anyone could possibly know what my favorite color is…

No way.

I don’t have it all over my desk and everything else I own. 😅

But just look at that book cover! I’m so in love with it.

Sheesh! The holidays are hard enough without a book release. Someone needs to remind me of that next year. 😅 Amazon was giving me nothing but problems while my other printers were just fine with the format of my book, so needless to say, the paperback released a week late. Amazon didn’t like my pretty side bars. Tears were nearly shed and that makes me grumpy to think about. I’ve done more marketing to try to compensate for the initial loss, but it doesn’t seem to have aided things as well as I hoped. Maybe I’ll get it right on the next one? I’m thinking I won’t announce a release until it’s actually released?? Thoughts anyone?

Moving on!

So, I love Say Nothing a little more than my other books. Not because I think the others are less than, but because I’ve spent so much more time writing it (more time with the characters in my head). That said, I’m trying to write a prequel. I’m unsure if it’s going to be turned into a book or website material, but I’ll let everyone know. The prequel at this point is told by Ben, Don, Hannah, and Toby. There’s still so much story before the story and something in me says, “It just has to be told!” Right now, I’m going through to find pieces I’ve already written and tying them in with new pieces that suddenly popped into my head at two in the morning.

While I’m sidetracked with writing a prequel to my latest publication, I’m also trying to do some final clean-ups on the next book I plan to release this coming Spring/early summer. This one is a bit shorter in volume but such a funny/sweet story. Inspiration for the cover seems to be off in la-la land because I can’t grasp what it looks like yet. I’ve got ones for other books that are nowhere near ready, but this one just wants to drag its heels. I also have to get a new website launched because this one is very limiting on what it allows me to do, and I don’t like being confined in tight quarters. So if the next blog post comes a bit late it’s because I’ve got a lot I’m trying to do in short time frames.

Until next time, Happy Reading, Friends! ~Elly
